OK, good.
Do this.
Go to the device manager and click on the PCI Simple Comms controller needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab.
Click on Update driver.
Select the browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran sp70232.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp70232.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver successfully installs.
Then reboot the PC.

This is crazy!
We've thrown every trick in the book at it and it won't work!
Try this driver if sp69592 doesn't work.
This is from the 450 G3...
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72884.exe
It also has support for the hardware ID you posted.
You can also try this if nothing works...for XP, but maybe you have the same related issue on W7...
