@presh007

Wow!  I have been looking for a solution for YEARS!  Like others, my camera stopped working after a few months & I have updated the drivers, factory reset, etc.  Like others, none of that worked & HP has been no help & hasn't offered a solution.

I figured what did I have to loose? So after happening upon this thread, I removed the bezel around my screen partially & removed the white plug thingy & reset it back into place and my camera instantly worked!

Thank you ! A thousand times!

The same issue here. I have a HP DV 3510NR.  No imaging device in the control panel / system / devices. Skype and Youcam says No camera detected. I have unplugged and plugged the connector but this made no difference.

I wonder which webcam driver I can install. I can`t find it on the internet.

Hello, @DeRedder

Thanks for reaching out! I'd like to help 🙂

To assist you better, I need to know the operating system on your PC. Please do reply with the details.

Alternatively, try installing the YouCam drivers from here: http://hp.care/2oUl7IZ

Also, here is the HP document which will help you troubleshoot this issue: http://hp.care/2oUmaJ0

Let me know if that helps!

Good luck 🙂

Thanks for the response.

When I bought this notebook 1 year ago it had Vista installed, updated it to Windows7.

I can not remember if it has ever worked.

Youcam does not install a driver and it does not detect the integrated webcam.

I think the webcam is broken.

Or maybe there is a keyboard keycombination to put it on.

Installed the Youcam software, it made no difference as I expected. I had already troubleshoot this issue last week.

Installed your Cyberlink Webcam software again. In control panel, system, devices I added the Cyberlink webcam virtual driver. I see that it appears under sound, video....

But still I can not use the webcam.

I understand that the issue still persists after following the steps provided in the previous interaction.

Let me jump in with a solution for this issue in place of my colleague as he is out of the office today.

Please follow the link: Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7)

Let me know if this works.

Thank you very much for responding,

I have found a lot of users with the same issue.

This issue happens after updating from Windows Visto to Windows 7 or later.

HP never came with an updated integrated Webcam driver.

But I do not give up and keep searching and trying.

Hello, @DeRedder

HP have updated the Windows 7 drivers for YouCam webcam drivers. Let's try these steps:

  1. Press “Windows logo key” + “R” to get the run pop-up window.
  2. Type “devmgmt.msc” and press ok to get the device manager.
  3. Now expand the webcam drivers, right-click on all the entries and select "Uninstall".
  4. Check the box which says "Delete the driver software" and complete the uninstall process.
  5. Now, restart the PC.
  6. Click on http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45501-46000/sp45825.exe to install the YouCaM drivers.
  7. Restart the PC and check the functionality.

If the issue persists, try using the Webcam in a different application other than Skype and check. Login to facebook and check if the webcam is working using the facebook messenger.

Thanks, Let me know if that helps!

Good luck 🙂

Thanks for responding.

I can not do these last steps because the webcam does not appear in the control panel.

Best regards
