Dear support,
When I shut down my laptop, the screen goes off. However, the laptop is still on where the power button is also on, and the laptop won't go off unless I press the power button for few seconds.
Kindly help me in fixing this trouble.

I see that your notebook is not shutting down properly. To assist you with this issue, I need to know how you are shutting down the notebook. Are you simply pressing the power button to shut it down or are you using the shutdown command from the desktop screen? Let me know.
If you are pressing the power button to shut down the PC, follow the steps below to change the power button settings:
- Go to Control Panel – Power options.
- Select “Choose what the power buttons do” from the left pane.
- Now make sure that “Shut down” is selected for “When I press the power button” option for both battery & plugged in options.
- Save the changes and check.
If you were using the “Shut down” command and was still experiencing this issue, then try to update the BIOS on your notebook. Go to http://hp.care/2lbHzam to download and update the BIOS. Restart the notebook once done and check for issue resolution.

Thanks for the update!
Did you try updating the BIOS as suggested in my above message? If not, please update the BIOS and then restart the PC and check.
If the issue still persists, then try to do a BIOS default on your PC. Here are the steps:
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F10 once for BIOS.
4) Press F9 for BIOS defaults.
5) Press F10 to save and exit.
Also, run the HP support assistant and make sure all the drivers are up to date.
That should do the trick!
