Hi there..

Please help with the following. I'll try and give as much detail as I can.

Model : HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b006ee - link

Product Number: C6K62EA

Windows: 8

I'm getting the primary (internal) battery 601 error on my sleekbook. From some other posts I'm confused if this is the internal CMOS battery or the outside battery which the user can charge i.e. the one which can be removed.

I hope this is the correct distinction between both the batteries.

The notebook goes off in few minutes if the charger is not plugged in and charging. And I get the battery when I turn it on.

During the error if I press the enter key to start-up as it says I get a fan error too. But if I just let it start on its own without pressing enter the fan error is not displayed.

My main doubt is which battery do I have to replace - CMOS or Primary ("outside" one)??

Here's the error I get on start up:

I also performed the battery check and this is what I found:

Thanks.

Hi,

It's actually the main battery which powers the machine. The report indicated the recommended charging cycles is 300 and you charged the battery over 700 times during 609 days. Well, just using it if you could and ready for a replacement.

Regards.

HI

I'm sorry but you saying "main battery" is further confusing me. Are you saying it's the CMOS one? I don't know if that's the correct name. Or is it the one we can take out from the back of the notebook?

HP Recommended

The one you can take out from the back of the machine. He is explaining that you have already put a lot of "miles" on the battery and it is likely ready to be replaced.

Thanks a lot.

I'll get it replaced asap. Marking as solved.

Thanks again & regards,

Allwyn
