Hello

I've purchased adapter Displayport-hdmi in order to output e.g. movies from laptop to TV.

So once i connect them original usb device connected sound plays (as i connect usb flash drive), but there is no any signal on TV. Just nothing

Ive got Win 7 64bit installed

I've found that one should use some active adapter, is it true? Can i use DP-HDMI cable instead? Any additional utilities/drivers?

Thanks in advance

You do have to activate the external port. Try hitting the Windows key and the p key at the same time with Windows running to get a utility to switch display from the laptop screen to the external to both.

The only thing i got on TV - message "Unsupported Video Format" 😞

Do you get that message anytime you try to switch the video or is it when you are trying to play a certain type of video?

Thanks,

Kyle

I've had similar issues with just HDMI in general on TV's, I would try a few of the following tips if they are applicable to you.

Make sure you have assigned a device to each HDMI. eg, if you're using HDMI for DVD then select DVD as the device for that in the set up screen, and in this situation PC make sure PC is selected. That is, if this is an option on your TV.

Also, you could try selecting a different HDMI port.

You could also change the channel or input, wait a second, then go back to the one It is connected to.

I hope maybe some of those tips will help. Let me know if they do.

Best of luck,
Kyle

I've got the same issue here ~~~> Using original HP DP - HDMI Adapter cable.

But hey, If there is a chinese company that has better cables than HP has for it's own products.

Can you please share the brand or site where you ordered the working cable?
