@Solveit9 Greetings from the HP Community! I'm afraid the information on how much it would cost, is something that can only be provided by the phone support team as off now, that said, you might see this message after the system board is replaced. The message indicates that the serial number was not entered, or was entered incorrectly, after replacing the system board or other component.

To resolve this issue, contact HP using the Contact Support tab at the top of this screen. You will be asked to provide the fourteen-digit System Board Commodity Tracking (CT) Number. Use the steps in one of the following sections to find the CT Number:

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

As for the charging issue, please try with an alternate power adapter and check if the issue persists.

There is no option for contacting HP once the warranty expires. The only option is to visit this community. It seems that several people have reported this issue after a bios update. I've done nothing to my desktop, no parts replaced, etc. Just came in my office the other day to find the system totally locked up. Once I reboot, I get the error message. I can continue on and work in Windows 10 until the system goes to sleep and then the error comes back up. I've found no real solution out of warranty except to pay someone to rebrand the system board. There has to be something customers can use to resolve this, especially when they didn't cause it.

@PhotogJon If you have an HP authorized service center near by, you should be able to take it to them and have it checked, as I'm afraid there are no other options as such,
