Do you have any kind of virus protection installed on your computer? If so, which one? Any firewalls set up?
Thanks,
Kyle

Yes, Norton internet secuirty was installed. It is no longer installed. it has expired, so I removed it. However, I found the driver that did work for me posted in the forums. This issue has be resolved for me using this link and downloading this driver.
The driver that i received from HP Support Assistant application, did not work at this time. The link I have listed here is the only one that resolved my issue.
Thank you.

Did you try the driver listed above?

I am experiencing the same problem with my notebook. I lose signal strength the farther I am from the router starting at about 10 feet. I have the most current driver and updated all the software. There is no other anti-virus software except what came with Windows 8. I have a slightly older HP with Windows 7 and will work anywhere in the house with full bars showing.

What anti-virus did your notebook come pre-installed with?
