Still no solution from HP support: I checked the connectors on the wireless module and were connected.
They told me to update the BIOS (which was already updated to version F.28) and to restore the system to factory settings.
I told them that the problem occurred from the beginning, before performing any installation or upgrade.
I'm waiting for further guidance.

Hi Framan82,
I understand you are having issues with the Wireless adapter.
I was just wondering if you look at the router from your computer, do you see something in between that might cause a degrade in service. Portable phones, baby monitors, or other products that are Wireless.
Also wondering have you unplugged the router and plugged it back it(reset).
Let me Know.
Thanks

Hi Mrstenter,
there are 4 notebooks, 3 smartphone and 3 tablets in the house, and only my new HP Notebook have this issue.
I tried to bring the PC closest to the router, but the signal is at its maximum only if I orient the back of the screen to the router (even from another room): a few inches from the router, if I turn the pc, signal immediately becomes low.
Hp support send me a new Wireless Card (the same model), but the issue still persists.
They told me to contact a service representative during business hours, but I can not get permits to work so I find myself compelled to keep my pc malfunctioning.
Has anyone tried to install a different wireless card?
I will never buy another HP product.

Hi Framan82,
Have you tried contacting your Wireless Provider? Your router might be set up for a limited number of products. Have you tried to connect your computer at a different location for wireless ie Coffee shop Library. Just to see if it connects.
That rules out the wireless card.
Let me know
Thanks

My router supports unlimited connections. However i tried with only my new HP Laptop connectecd, and the issue was the same.
Same thing connecting the PC to another network (I tried also with tethering on my Samsung Galaxy S3).
Reading on various forums you can see that the problem is widespread, all related to the same model of wireless card.
Why HP equips a 1200Euro laptop with a such problematic card???

I understand another network wont let it connect?
What channel is the router on?
Another network gives different settings and connects differently, that is why we suggest a cafe.
Your saying that the wireless connects, but is low signal.
Thanks

The wireless connects, but with low signal (and sometimes lose connection for a while).
The other devices in the home reveal a dozen wifi networks present in my condo, the HP instead only 2 (and with low signal).
It's not a router problem. As I said, I tried also with tethering: I created a wifi network with my GS3 as router, and the HP still have same issue (the other devices had no problem).

Hey Framan82,
If the network has lots of things on the same Signal, this can degrade the service.
The router channel should be changed it will assist with the signal strength.
Its like a highway all trying to exit at the same time, it causes congestion and slow speeds. It you put it on a different Channel its like building a new road.
Here is a document that might assist.

As I said before, I also tried to leave connected to the network only HP PC, with no improvement.
If you search on this forum, you will find more than 80 discussions about problems with RT3290 Adapter.
In any case, if a person did not have access to the router settings would find itself unable to use the network (think of a public router)?
If it was a router problem should not even operate other devices.
