@cmissyjones,

I apologize for the broken link, lets try this one instead: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&softwareitem=ob-111691-1

Thank you,

Thanks that link works but I'm not running in Windows 8. I'm in Windows 7 64 bit.

@cmissyjones,

Yes, you did mention that in a previous post. But it should technically work for both Windows 7 and Windows 8 as it states from the manufacturers website. (Both version 5.0.5.0).

Let me know how this goes.

Thank you,

I did try it anyway. It said it wasn't installed properly and asked to install a version compatible with my is. I let it and I now have the driver I started with and still no WiFi. I'm going to ring my ISP tomorrow and see if they have any advice as my Technicolor Gateway keeps popping up now. I'm wondering if I can reset my router in another way. IE Not using the reset button.
Thanks

It turns out the ralink is not working. I'm going to buy an external adapter.

Thank you for your help.

I have had my new

HP Envy dv7-7247cl 17.3" Laptop Computer, Intel Core i7-3630QM, 8GB Memory, 1TB Hard Drive

for about 3 weeks now. It has Windows8 64bit OS. I like the computer but I'm having the same issues

as many on here are with the Ralink RT5390R wifi not connecting/or weak connection to my router.

I have an extrenal Netgear wifi adapter that I am currently using but it would be nice to have my built in

wifi working. Does HP have an alterate adapter that we can replace this one with that works?

I don't seem to have the problem anymore.  I must have fixed it accidentally.  I have a new HP Envy laptop with Win 8.1 64.  I had downloaded the Ralink driver several times, deleted the installed driver and re-installed the new download without success.  The last time, recently about two weeks ago, I deleted the driver and shut down the computer.  Restarted the computer and Windows found a Ralink driver and installed it.  The one they found must be new because I have not had a loss of connection since Windows installed the new driver.

I hope this helps someone and I am keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that it is the final solution.

Ciao

After nearly a month, Windows did an auto update and my WiFi is fine! Glad I kept trying. Isn't technology wonderful.
