I too have had the left hinge on my HP Envy 17 TS break.  It is now to the point where the hinge is no longer operable.  The case is broken and separated by close to an inch.  It was out of warranty when it started and I could not afford a repair.

I purchased the PC in June 2014 and it operates fine.  However, I must now be in the market for a new PC because of the hinge and case.  My question is "has the hinge issue been resolved or if I get a new 17 TS Envy, is the same problem going to occur".  I like the 17" and like the touch screen but if this is a continued design issue, I will need to look at another type of PC.

Also, it would be nice to have a discount toward a new PC due to this design flaw.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
