'I need help. I got a blue screen and now it is asking for a passwaord to restart computer. It was working fine.

Hi,

 

At the password screen, hit enter 3 times and you should receive a 'halt code' - post back with this code.

Can you post back with the following.

 

Is there any title to this password screen?

 

Is there any number displayed with the stop message?

 

Are you receiving the stop error before or after pressing the enter key 3 times?

 

It may be useful if you could upload ( or provide a link to ) a picture of this screen.

Hi

 

Try the following.

 

Shut down the notebook by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.

 

Unplug the AC Adapter, hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds, then release it. 

 

Plug in the AC Adapter, start the notebook and at the password screen, try pressing the enter key 3 times - if you now get a halt code displayed, post back with the code.
