HI erico,

@SuperMario1 has mentioned about upgrade to win8. while i have got laptop with default win10.

however the link he mentions on forum does take to genric search page(no document is present there). it navigates me to http://support.hp.com/gb-en.

I have already tried installing all recommeded updates shown on Hp Support application installed on my system. It still has not worked for me.

I see what you mean. There were problems over the last few months with links and it appears his is one that may have been affected.

The following URL is an updated link to replace the one in his post.

Your answer did helped me. I have SD card reader on my laptop while memory card used is SDHC.

thanks

I reinstalled the card reader driver and it still is not working.

I downloaded the sd card reader driver installed it and then inserted the card into the slot. I got a device installing when I entered the card. No icon in thispc. Inserting the card I get a notification sound but cannot find where to access my card.

I was experiencing the same problem.  Normal sd cards ( up to 32GB ) were fine but anything bigger presented the problem.

I have tried various fixes but non were working so in desperation I reformatted my cards using NTFS with a default allocation unit size (4096).

This has cured my problems and have used it on both  a 64gb Kingston and a 200gb SanDisk.

Could be worth a try ?
