Here is the changelog for anyone that can make use of it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3081424

I've installed it and restarted but I'll not bother saying if it's fixed it or not yet as we all know how it works.

What do you mean by "hard reset"? What does that entail?

HP Recommended

Hard reset just means holding the power button to switch off once it's crashed. Just the same as hard switch off or hard shut down.

Bummer to hear the latest Windows update didn't fix it!

Those Intel drivers have been out for a week now (since 7/29) and unfortunately have not solved the problem for most of us.

Still waiting I guess...

I am going to ride out the storm... so many forums/ groups have members with the same issues and whilst mainly HP there are other models.

For those waiting; please can we post (even on a new tread) when things start working via an automatic update within the next fortnight. I will follow if we not progressing.

HP don't really monitor these community group

Windows 10 has been extensively tested and HP is suppose to be reputable so why are we all having this most basic of problem? I mean its 2015 and Windows has been out for ever. Didn't Microsoft learn anything? How come HP didn't issue a notice to us all to not install Windows 10? I mean this problem is basic! This problem means that we can't shut down our relatively new laptops correctly! Microsoft broke my laptop and HP let them!  How come the people responsible for breaking my laptop won't issue a fix? Can it even be fixed? I gave HP my hard earned money for my laptop and you know what? I think they should give it back! Chrylser has recently been order to buy back some of their pick ups due to a fault. HP may have to do the same if they don't fiix this as of yesterday!

Test #3 involved me going on lunch break and coming back to see if my laptop would wake up after the sleep (no lid close). FAILED as well.  Same issue.. no luck with the latest Windows update. Sorry folks.
The only time it will wake from sleep for me is if I catch it very early into the "sleep phase". AKA right when I notice the screen turns off.

Does performing a hard reset damage my laptop in any way? I've heard things, and so I'm concerned because of the amount of times I've had to do this...
