Just want to confirm the issue with the windows 10 EMI driver.

I did a clean install from the iso and of course rebooting has issue ( it does a hard reboot).

I installed the EMI driver from my HP model and blocked the update of it.

Now all windows 10 drivers are installed (except for EMI) and the reboot is normal (wireless light and power button keeps on).

I will need a day or two to state the sleep is still working fine, but so far it is.

So HP and MS have asked the users who r facing problem to revert back to win 8.1, eh ?

I tried a clean install after suggestions from MS tech support and several others in this forum and lost the revert back option in the process !

So what can i do now ?

Is it possible for me anyway to get back to 8.1 (except for downloading the pirated one !) ?

If you remember your serial key or have stored your tokens file or would have taken a backup of your license activation using Advanced Token's Manager, in that case you might have been able to recover your original Windows 8.1 activation. Don't worry, this works even on an iso downloaded from torrents as well. But I guess MS has now allowed to download Windows 8.1 iso(s) without serial key. Use this official Microsoft tool, to download Windows 8.1 iso legally without entering serial key, but you may need your serial key for activation.

But I guess, you can download an updated iso from torrents, in which the Windows updates are streamlined as well. So far Windows 8.1 iso(s) with streamlined updates till July 2015 are available, but in torrents. But don't worry, you won't stay pirated. Just ignore their cracks(mostly they use KMS server emulators) and use your own serial to remain genuinely activated.

You can use the recovery discs you made under 8.1, if you didn't make those you can order a set of replacement discs from the HP website but you will have to pay for that option.

You can download Windows 8.1 by using the Windows 8.1 media creation tool from Microsoft: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

Of course, you will need your licence key to activate your licence.

Normally there is a licence key somewhere on your device (if the computer was originally made with Windows 7 or older installed).

If you bought your computer with Windows 8/8.1 installed, there won't be any key on the device, because the key is stored in your UEFI, so you don't need to enter a key it all happens automatically.

If you have bought a licence I guess that you'll still have the licence key.

My laptop came with pre-installed windows 8.1

So can anyone confirm that the ISO would work without any  windows key ?

Is anyone facing the same problem as me ?

During installation, just skip the serial input and you shall be activated. Please note you need to do an upgrae first before clean install so Microsft store your Haredware ID in their servers then you will be able to re-activae as mentioned.

You would think that by going into Device Manager and just rolling back one or more of the drivers to a prior version would work wouldn't you..if you knew which driver to roll back? I don't think I can revert back to 8.1 becuase i deleted all the back up files under disc clean up. When i did that it popped up that i wouldn't be able to roll back to 8.1
