This is neither a problem of HP nor Microsoft.

The culprit is Intel. Downgrade Intel Management Engine Interface driver to 9.5.24.1790 (search Intel site).

I had same problem on my Pavilion 15-n208tx. Running alright after the aforesaid downgrade since last two days.

The problem is with Intel Management Engine Interface driver ver 11x.

Download driver fom https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25096/Intel-ME-11-Management-Engine-Driver-for-Intel-NUC

:TongueOut: Both the Shutdown & Sleep problem solved... (verified)

thanx

Still the lack of support from HP was and is disgusting.

Why are my comments been moved cant HP take a bit of negativity?

Thanks DanG82, re4med and others who persisted and got this solved.

I've been following the thread for the last couple weeks, and, and your solution worked for me.

One question - I have my pc (Pavillion 15) set up to turn the screen off after 10 minutes of inactivity, and sleep after 20 minutes.  When the pc is booted up, it follows that pattern exactly, but, once it's been active for an hour or more, the screen will shut down and sleep simultaneously after only 5 minutes.

Any guess on what may be causing this?  Is it perhaps an issue with my settings or a defect in the driver?

Thanks again.

That's very odd!  I'll have to pay attention to whether my model (Envy 15 x360) is doing something similar.

Appreciate the feedback!  🙂

Thanks Dan.

Just a guess, but maybe it's the HP Energy Star power management software pre-installed on my pc.

I may un-install and see what happens.

The fact that some of my contents are removed by mod is there is someone from HP watching this thread and yet they are not even give a single word in this thread.

First, they let us suffering since the day one.

Second, their services (specially for costumer) are bad.

Third, they let us to solve their problems.

And, they make a thread that not solving the problems, seems like they are not hard enough to try solve the problem.

OK, enough, this is my last HP porduct. I'll never buy your product again.

Looks like HP needs to let go some of the staff and hire majority of the people in this forum. The people here found the solution faster than a whole corporation.

Exliko, I totally agree with you that HP has not been answering us straight forward, but you should realize that not all moderators are trained to be professionals that would provide you with a  solution. Infact, moderators can have zero knowledge about the topic they are working on but know enough to remove something that does not belong here.
