Funny, I have upgraded many OS's through the years.  I know going in that there will be issues.  My normal concerns, however, never center around SLEEP, HIBERNATE,  and SHUT DOWN.  Really, it is a simple piece of code (you can shut down through a DOS prompt for pete's sake).  The upgrade to 10 was also a concern as has been other upgrades but never in my wildest imagination would this be THE issue that is plaguing an otherwise GOOD operating system.

I have upgraded so many computers in this small school I work for that I have lost track.  I have gone from XP to 7 to 8 and now, 10.  This issue was simply not on my radar.  I always expect issues (usually video or some piece of software).

I am waiting for the iSheep to start yammering about how great their MAC's are.   That will come in time.

However, the good news is that it will get resolved.  The PR on this issue is too huge for them to ignore. Patience...and someday we will all look back on this and laugh (maybe).  🙂

I can confirm that HP is uploading drivers not even compitable with my lapop in the it's model's driver page.

The support contacted me and asked to download the today released driver which refuesd to insall even via the manual way. I checked the ReadMe.txt file from the exctracted driver folder and my processor is not on the list!!

You can't install it over the old driver, because it's for Windows 8.1. You should fully uninstall the old driver, then restart your PC and after the restart to install the new one.

I can confirm that Windows 10 works great on several non HP machines I upgraded for my friends. This is on HP to fix, at least I think it is. BIOS on some HP laptops sucks hard and they actually managed to put dGPUs that are not supported... In my case it is Radeon HD 8750 combined with Intel HD 4600 and on AMDs site for these drivers clearly stands that they work with most AMD APUs and 3rd generation Intel processors. Gues what... This is 4th gen Intel and dGPU never worked well and I payed good money for it. It's just poor design. However this end, fixed or not, I will never buy HP again and I refuse to switch back to 8.1just because of the picture I attached in previous reply.

I am telling you that the driver's ReadMe.txt don't even has my processor included and it reads:

Release Date: July 21, 2015

Altough it's uploaded today at HP website!

This is the ReadMe.txt supported processors (You can check and download the driver file and see yourself):
