like other people ive been chatting to microsoft support and they said they is a known issue and is being worked on ( unlike HP who havent said anything)
they have no timeframe to get it fixed and suggested as mentioned by other people to revert to 8.1 till its fixed.
also you will be able to go back to windows 10 when its fixed
so thats what im going to do!

Trust me its not a big deal to revert....the problem only comes if you have deleted windows.old folder which contains the previous window you had before windows 10...other than that it only takes 10 minutes to revert back and you can upgrade to windows 10 anytime cause it has already been downloaded before...trust me

since i have my first computer, i don't like the concept of upgrading os from old os.

As far as trusting you -- that's what HP and MS said and look at the mess that came as a result. This is not just an HP issue. The issue goes back to Oct. 2014 and in both the developers preview and release candidates as late as ONE WEEK prior to the official release of Win10.

Someone willing to try this?
Check for possible bios update if your setup is stable to handle it. Than do a clean install of Windows 10 (best to get ISO and format, not reset or refresh because your systems have old drivers for HP things around the board and bios), let Windows manage drivers for some time till it get all the updates. Ignore missing drivers for unknown devices... Test shutdown, sleep and hibernate. Report back here. Than if you are ok and stable try and find your missing drivers from HP and report which one breaks it. Note the missing drivers on the site? Good luck findin g ones you miss.
HP is a mess.
My PC runs and rests good for nearly 3 days, I am just waiting for hotkey support.

I recently talked to HP folks again, they made me remove the USB nano-recievers for the peripherals i had connected, and asked me to shutdown the laptop. Suprisingly, it shut down just fine. But still, he made me do the following:
1) Remove the battery and hold the power button for 8 seconds to remove electrical surges.
2) Update the BIOS from HP website. He told me to download the update for Windows 8.1 instead of Windows 10 for my laptop model(HP Envy 15 k100, click here for the link, but don't forget to change the OS to Windows 8.1). Hence, it is shutting down just fine; or at least for now!
PS- I can actually see some services that were blocking the shutdown, however, windows took care of it now and shut down anyways.
