HP Recommended

 My computer (I have no idea what kind except it's an hp) froze and crashed and took my cursor away and said boot device not found. I press f2 and do the memory test and it says memory quick check : passed. So then I do the hard drive test and it says smart CHECK: not installed short DST : not installed. I looked online and found pretty much nothing. Can someone please help me?

You certainly know whether it it a desktop or laptop. Have you looked on the bottom for a label? Inside the battery bay?
