According to this website forum -

http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/threads/guide-enabling-wintab-compatibility-on-synaptics-penabled-de...

then there are Wintab drivers for Synaptics pens, such as the Spectre x360 series. This enables older software with many pen features

They appear to be at -

for 64 bit systems

and for 32 bit systems

Yes, the keyboard turns off when the screen has rotated to tent mode, and stays off when all the way to tablet mode.

I tried the Dell pen, but the battery only lasts like 2 weeks, as is evidenced by Amazon reviews. I tried to get a Chinese synaptics pen (Teclast) but haven't been able to make it work (no surprise there). I've heard the HP pens work horribly and have worse battery life than the Dell.

Any other recommendations?

Anton, have you ever solved this?

Got the same laptop (spectre x360-13) and same pen pn556w... nothing 😕

Many thanks in advance!

No unfortunately

Just finding out that I - and a lot of people in many forums - confuse the Dell Active Pen (pn556w) and the Dell Active Stylus (750 AAGN). Apparently an absolutely different kind of technology. Stupid me, just wasted the investment of a pn556w which is NOT compatible with the Spectre x360 (the other one reportedly is)... but can't help finding it a little too subtile putting THE important information into bracketed kryptos. Or should it have been clear from naming one "pen" and the other "stylus"??

Unfortunately that didn't work.

I too am having issues getting an active stylus to work with my spectre x360.  I initially tried the HP Active stylus, couldn't get it to work, the tech support couldn't figure it out either, and said it wasn't compatible.  Hmmm.

So, I just got the Dell 750 in the mail today, and I can't get that to work either.  I tried installing first the 64 bit driver, and then uninstalled that one and tried the 32-  no dice.

Anyone having any luck with these?

Yes. Misery likes it's company. What model do you have? I'm still having no luck getting a pen to work however the same pen works on 2 other HP Spectre x360s.

Ugh.  I have the 13" 2 in 1 convertible with the 512 SSD.  I went through such a hassle at best buy with them sending me the HP active stylus first, which I couldn't get to work and neither could they, so they thouht it was a dud and ordered me another one.  When the next one arrived, still no dice.  The agents that helped me that time said, oh, it's not compatible.  Sigh.  So, I tried ordering the Dell one recommended on this thread and I can't get that to work either.

I just can't believe HP would make such an awesome machine without bundling a stylus.
