That information is from batterybar utility.

From support Assistant my numbers are:

Design capacity 4960 mAh

Full Charge capacity 4672mAH

64/1000 cycles

Why is there a difference between the design capacity and full charge capacity?

Where are you getting the x/1000 cycles displayed from?

I downloaded a 'App' from MS yestersay called 'Battery'

Says I have 55085 capicity and when its fully charged it says 55085. My discharge rate is 0Mw :generic:

I'm tired of only getting around 3 hours battery life on a single charge on the i7 QHD.

I've already aranged to send it back to HP and to get a refund to which then I'm going to 'Downgrade' to the i5 FHD in the same copper and black as my i7.

I will give HP the benifit of the doubt and see how the FHD performs, hopefully it'll use 30% - 40% less battery as some web reviews claim.

This will be the only and last chance for HP to prove them selves. I'm considering a new Kindle Fire for less then £50. Money in my pocket and long battery life.

On a serious note, Does anyone know if HP can custom build the Spectre? I'd like a 512GB hard drive rather then the 256GB hard drive that comes with thee i5 in copper.

I've read back on some older posts and its clicked that GB has mentioned he has the skylake version chip. This aparently replaces the Broadwell chip found in the i7 of my machine. With that chip he is saying he can achive some long battery life.

I recently purchased the FHD Skylake i7 with Windows 10 and my battery life average was between 6-7 hours on 30% brightness, wifi turned on with battery saver enabled. My use was mostly web browsing on edge and a few Youtube videos. This was dissapointing and a far cry from What I expected. Tried a plethora of things to improve longevity but to no avail. Finally i thought of doing a clean boot (how to perform a clean boot: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135). Since performing a clean boot, my battery life has improved significantly. Now I average between 9-10 hours with similar usage and settings. What I noticed is that the temps (using HW monitor) were hovering around 50 celcius but after the clean boot the temps were in the low to mid 30's celcius. There must have been some service that was causing the temperature hike. Now I'm finally happy the battery life of my HP.

Surely a clean boot stops most of the MS services that you need?

Have you disables GPS and cortana, laknaths

HP Recommended

I checked hide all microsoft services. So they were excluded from being disabled and yes I have Cortana and GPS disabled as well.

I'm getting around 6 to 7 on my fhd i5.

Haven't done the clean boot thing.

Mind you. I have looked at it and the majority of it is all HP stuff. Think I'll leave that alone.

I have just recieved a BIOS update.

I still haven't tested my battery life. I can use the laptop for 2 evenings before it needs charging, so perhaps 7 - 8 hours?

I have noticed that this laptop is only a few weeks old compared to my 4 month old i7 - Perhaps being newer means better software revisions loaded onto it?

I wonder if they have looked at this forum and made a BIOS update to help with the battery?

I bought an  x360 on clearance from BestBuy.  i7-Gen 5 with QHD display.  500GB SSD, Win 10, all updated BIOS and drivers as of 1/16/16.

I cycled the battery 2x and then did an endurance test ..

I downloaded an iTunes HD movie and ran the movie continously full screen.

I created a custom power mode by copying the "power saver" profile and changed display and computer to 'never'.

Display set to 80%.  Headphones plugged-in (didn't use speakers).  Bluetooth ON, and Cortana was enabled. Wifi connected to a 5GHz network.

Computer turned-off 7hrs, 35mins later.

I was considering returning and exchanging for a Gen 6 .. thoughts?   Got this one for 1,1k.  $300 more get the exact same computer with the Gen 6 - i7.  Thinking the new display would be worth it?

Also, I don't get a battery estimated time.  Is everyone else having the same issue with the Gen 5 processor x360?  How about the Gen 6, does it show estimated time on the battery icon?
