Hi @waff69,

Good Day.  A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the post about the computer not booting and not having a display. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

  • Did this happen after a bios, windows or software update?
  • Did you try to hook it up to an external TV via an HDMI cable if the computer has an HDMI port?
  • If there is a display on an external screen, then the computer has a display issue.
  • If there is no display on the computer Please perform a hard reset first.
  • Then try to power on the computer and check if the issue gets resolved.
  • If it persists please try to recover the bios and check if the issue gets resolved. Please try to perform both the steps mentioned in the link.
  • If the issue continues, then please continue troubleshooting by clicking here
  • If the issue continues, then the computer has a hardware issue. Please contact HP phone support from here:http://hp.com/contacthp Please select the country and type the product# of the computer. Then follow the onscreen instructions.

  • If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.

Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.

Take care now and have a superb week ahead. 🙂
