Hi,

I am facing trouble for past few days where the touchpad stops working - as in scrolling using the touchpad. I have to go to the synaptics driver folder and start SynTPEnh.exe manually. BUt after sometime, say opening folders, browsers, system hangs for few seconds and the process stops.

I just checked my Event Log and found this -

Faulting application name: SynTPEnh.exe, version: 15.3.29.0, time stamp: 0x4e97a6f5
Faulting module name: SynTPEnh.exe, version: 15.3.29.0, time stamp: 0x4e97a6f5
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0000000000013088
Faulting process id: 0x1a64
Faulting application start time: 0x01cd7ff180a6a942
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe
Report Id: 961d608b-ebe5-11e1-a88f-70f395ca9214

Does anyone knows what this is all about? I checked for driver update via Device Manager and it says the driver is up to date.

I am using HP Pavilion dv6

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

I would re-install the latest driver for the touchpad, then restart the PC.

I checked the page and verified that the driver on my system is up to date. I found no support/troubleshooting topics related to my problem,

What else should I do?

I wasn't having the problem for past few days and hit it again sometime back. Reinstalled the driver and rebooted. Now am gonna watch this for few more days - as it seems it is kind of sporadic....

Hi guys, any news on this one? I'm having the exact same problem as has been described here. The solutions provided do not help for me either! I hope it can be solved soon.

Reinstalling the drivers helped solve my problem

Alright, thanks m8. I'll try again, I guess I didn't remove and reinstall properly.

Are you now running with driver version 15.1.6.64? It's the latest driver available here. Strangely my latest installed driver was a newer one, device management states version 15.3.29.0 so I think it's the newer driver version that doesn't work properly and causes the crash?
