I recently upgraded to WinX, and when I did it appears as though my top row keys (F1-10, prt scrn, home, end etc.) only work occasionally and in certain programs. I'm not sure if this is a conflict with the HP software and the programs or what, but I didn't have this issue before the upgrade and I was wondering if anyone might have any solutions?
I'm a gamer, and really require the use of my top row keys, especially since I play MMOs and some don't have full controller compatibility or I'm using recording software and prefer to use my top row keys to trigger the recording session in mobas since I don't require their use. Any ideas? Has anyone run across this issue or am I alone in this massive sea of HP users? 😕
ETA:
Forgot to mention that after MANY hours, and LOTS of uninstalling and reinstalling, I have all of my drivers up to date for WinX

Hello and thanks for posting on the HP support forum. What you can do at this point until there are more updates released from microsoft and the hardware vendors is run the Windows Update Troubleshooter.
If that fails to solve the issue. The only option will be to roll back the operating system to the previous one until HP gets the drivers so that they can release them on the support page for your notebook that are for Windows 10.
Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

Thank you for your response.
However, I must say that I am VERY disappointed in you as a "Support Agent" working for HP. As a support agent you should have thorough knowledge of your products and their hardware as well as incorporated software. It was a fellow gamer that notified me that your laptops come with function lock in the BIOS that needs to be disabled to enable proper F-Key functioning in programs.
Huge thumbs down @D5GR, and massive thumbs down HP.
This post absolutely did not solve my issue, but I hope that if someone else who has this issue runs across this post feels comfortable enough to respond or shoot me a message. I'll certainly be sending HP a lengthy message about this. I used to work in computers and I would NEVER encourage your standard user to go screwing around in the BIOS to remove the function lock on their top row keys.
I realize now that the only reason why the keys worked before I rolled my computer forward was because my hard drive was from another computer, as the hard drive that came with this laptop just suddenly died for no reason (mind you, the hard drive currently running in this computer is 2 years older than the computer itself). So, had I used the original hard drive in this computer, I'd still have had the issues with the F Keys. So rolling back the operating system STILL WOULDN'T WORK D5GR. Now that the hard drive has been wiped, formatted and all that good stuff, if I were to roll it back to its original OS (Win8), I would still have the same problem.
SO, D5GR, what would I do then? If you nor I didn't know about the function lock in the BIOS, what's next? Hm? Do I just have to deal with it?
Please sir/ma'am, do a little bit more reasearch before copying and pasting your crap answer.
And please tell your company to put a freaking FN LOCK KEY ON THE STUPID KEYBOARD SO PEOPLE DON'T HAVE TO GO DICKING AROUND IN THE BIOS.
I solved the problem myself, so thanks no thanks. Your answer sucked, it doesn't solve the problem. I'd prove it myself now that my hard drive is all situated, wiped, and has a fresh install, but I quite like Windows 10 and really don't want to have to experience 8.1. I'm rather glad I got to skip that hot mess.

Given to me by the stranger who told me how to do this.
You're a support agent. This is posted on your own support web site, and you failed to provide me with this information.
I hope this helps anyone else who has this issue.
You failed so hard @D5GR
