Hi Daniel,

Great!

I made it by following your instructions. Thank you so much!

Hi I was wondering if I could get the touchpad driver for my laptop and instructions on how to install it. My model is the DV4250ca. I am running windows 7 ultimate. Thank you

@Rydock

Hi,

You've got an old model so this may not be so easy task to do.

Please backup your system first before you will do anything. If anything will go wrong you will have option to return to previous state. To find out how you may do it please check this topic.

Please download and try to install below driver:

ALPS Touchpad Pointing Device here

When normal installation will fail, then try to run this driver in Compatibility Mode (Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows XP Service Pack 3).

Thanks Daniel. I installed it without the need for compatibility. After installed, I would get a "This program (apoint.exe) is known to have compatiility issues." I click "Run program" and the touch pad would work. I've tried setting apoint.exe and apntEx.exe to Win XP S3 compatibility mode, and I still get the message upon startup. Should I just tick the "Do not show this message" box?

In conclusion, the touchpad works perfectly, but I still get a compatibility issue dialog on startup.

Hi,
Please write your notebook product number (p/n). You'll find it at the bottom of the laptop on a sticker.
