I have a HP DV7. Product# B2P31UA#ABA.
When I first start up my laptop the touch pad is non-responsive. It then becomes erratic with a mind of it's down. Once it warms up it works fine. The problem is that it takes up to 10-15 minutes for it to sometimes warm up.
Are there any hardware/bios updates that would solve this problem or do I need to replace my touchpad?
Thanks,
Blaine

My first suggestion would be to perform a hard reset. A hard reset is different from a restart or shut down because it remove all electricity from the laptop and then is reintroduced. This can typically resolve issues similar to yours.
To Perform A Hard Reset
Shut down the computer by going to the Start menu and selecting shut down. (If you have no display, hold the power button down for 5 seconds)
Disconnect the AC Adapter from the notebook.
Remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook. There will be a switch/button to eject the battery.
Wait at least 1 minute with all power sources disconnected.
Re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC Adapter and then attempt to power on the notebook.
Give this a shot and let me know if it fixes the problem.
Thanks,
Sean
