I got a new Elitebook along with the HP Ultraslim 2013 docking station. When I dock the notebook, none of the peripherals are recognized, including a VGA monitor, or USB mouse and keyboard. Only the Ethernet works. Even the power is not working. I have the Ultraslim powered, but it is not charging the battery.
The docking station power button lights up after I dock the laptop. There is a power LED that is turned on near the power cord of the Ultraslim power port.
I've tried to dock it, turn off the Ultraslim, then turn back on. No change.
I've undocked - unplugged everything. Dock, then plug everything in and still no change.
I'm not sure if there is some setup that has to be done for the dock, e.g. run the drivers, etc. Shouldn't this just be plug-And-Play?
I have Windows 7 Professional on an Intel i7-5600U. Any help is appreciated.

The Ultrasilm dock is mostly a pass-thru device, except there is a displayport hub (why it needs firmware) to support both video ports on the back. You may have a harware problem with the dock. There are no drivers for the dock
i would make sure to get the laptop updated, but if that is already done, then, i suggest a call to HP Support, or open a case on the web
