EliteBook 8440p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Community,

I recently upgraded my Elitebook 8440p to Windows 10 64-bit. Device Manager says I missing the driver for the an Unknown Device:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There are no compatible drivers for this device.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

Hardware IDs:

ACPI\VEN_HPQ&DEV_0004

ACPI\HPQ0004

*HPQ0004

Where can I find the driver to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Hi:

You need this driver for that device...

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64001-64500/sp64144.exe

The unknown device is the  fingerprint driver which is incompatable with windows 10  This also make Windows Hello incompatable. The TrackPad driver is incompatable also it will not scroll web page or the Windows 10 application menu. but when I was a Windows Insider they built in a method to lock out the trackpad driver and then you have to install the PS2 compatable moiuuse driver.
