DV 7 Product number: A1T61UA#A
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've just upgraded this laptop to Win 10, so far HP shows no Win 10 drivers.  I've gone into Device Manager and there are several unknown devices.

ROOT\PNETETH\0000

ACPI\HPQ0004\2&DABA3FF&3

ROOT\PRINTER\0002 (AND A FEW MORE HIGHER NUMBER OF THIS)

FYI, fingerprint reader now handled by Windows Hello.

My impression of the HP device above is it has to do with disk drive protection.

Any help cleaning up the Device Manager mess would be greatly appreciated.  Also, any info on up to date drivers for the hybrid ATI Intel graphics would be greatly appreciated.

Reinstalling that software cleared that up, and after rebooting (which included surprise Windoze updates) most of the others went away too.  Remaining are;

ROOT\AMPPAL\0000

ROOT\SYSTEM\0002

ROOT\PNETETH\000

All the printer ones are gone now.  The others seem Intel related, maybe Bluetooth.  But Intel doesn't seem to have much Win 10 driver support yet.

Thanks!

You're very welcome.

I googled the first ID remaining and you are right...it is part of the Intel bluetooth system.

I looked up the parts list for your model and according to that, your notebook has an Intel Centrino 1030 wirless N card.

If that is correct, there are no W10 bluetooth drivers for that card--even on the Intel site.

So...try the W8.1 drivers and see if they work.  The second file listed is for W8.1 x64.

On my other Win 10 system, all I have left of unknown devices is

ROOT\MULTIFUNCTION\0000.

Note that I've reinstalled the software for my OJ8600.

Thanks!

Hi:

According to this forum post, it still seems to be related to the printer...

I had read that, unfortunately no real path from there, perhaps keeping in mind that I don't use NIS (grew to hate NIS as buggy and very, very heavy on some systems).   The HP printer does work, but HP Solution Center won't run, saying software is not fully installed, though reinstallation completed normally.
