Hi:

You can only use DDR (PC-3200) memory in your dc7100.

That is because DDR2 and DDR3 run on different voltages than DDR memory.

To keep us from shorting out the memory or motherboards, the notches in DDR2 and DDR3 are all cut in different places to physically prevent installing the wrong type memory in the memory slots.

In other words the notch in DDR memory is cut in a different place than the notch in DDR2 memory and the notch in DDR3 memory is cut in a different place than either DDR or DDR2 memory.

So the best you can do in that machine is 4 x 1 GB of PC-3200 memory.

Hi:

What you wrote doesn't sound good to me.

If you went into the advanced power options and disabled the adaptive brightness setting already, and that is happening to you, I would say that there is a hardware issue of some kind.

I suppose so that's a. hardware failure in bios it should show full Brighton screen but i believe now its less then 40% and in windows its showing full brightness.... and the worst thing my warranty period expired one week ago and now that's becoming a headache what should i do now?

Sorry that has happened.

Since I am not employed by, nor do I represent HP, I have no idea what you can do about it.

I have no idea how to fix it because I am not a PC repair tech by trade or training.

Just about an HP agent contacted me over my post about this matter but i believe that's gonna cost me a lot...Well thanks for reply and have a nice day and take care ....
I will be bringing more issues soon because I am born to mess up the computers and then search for solution to their problems ....hehehe.... 🙂 😄
