Hello DV6-6001TX. I understand you're trying to get switchable graphics to work in Windows 8.
Since this notebook does not have official Windows 8 drivers you should try using this method to get it working. The thread covers using Windows 7 drivers in Windows 8 for use with switchable graphics.
Let me know if this helps. I hope you have a great day!

I've gone through the suggestions of resetting the bios for my DV7-6b75nr, and then trying to remove the ATI package using its uninstall option. Whether I use the more recent file or the older file (my laptop has the older one installed), the installer package crashes just after you tell it to do the uninstall.
So I basically have to block ATI graphics from working on this otherwise hi res good video laptop. And the antique drivers are not compatible, as per MS, with IE10 on Win 7.

I followed reports I read online to not use the whole package. I now run the atisetup.exe from inside the package - atisetup.exe -install. It works, installs the drivers, but you can't tell what its doing while it runs. But it gets around the bugs in the installer shell. So now I have the late 2011 graphics drivers for the laptop.
I also filed a support request with HP regarding these issues and the inability to use IE10 with Win 7 with these drivers (as described by Microsoft, and as happened to me). I just got off the phone with an HP rep on this subject.

But these drivers appear to be for 6700M Series and not specifically for 6770M and thus my device manager and windows update prompt me to 'update' back to driver 8.882.2.3000, keeping in mind that the driver you're providing is 8.951.0.0000. So who's to trust?

I was referring to Alex_G and his link - http://www2.ati.com/DRIVERS/mobile/12-3_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc.exe

The real 'Solution' to this thread should point to 6137tx's response; i.e. download:
http://www2.ati.com/Drivers/mobile/12-10_mobility_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql_net4.exe
http://www2.ati.com/Drivers/mobile/12-10_mobility_vista_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc_whql_net4.exe
That is the latest driver, at least from what this thread provides.

I dont know exactly what u mean by 'hybrid INTEL ATI switchable graphics'. I suppose you mean an on-board gpu from Intel and discrete AMD GPU. If that is what u mean, then u should know that this is the exact configuration I have and the links I've posted in my previous reply totally DID work for me.
