Instead of workarounds, complaining and waiting for a driver that may or may not happen, I suggest we all send emails to this link, as it was posted earlier on the thread:

I sent mine a while back, a representative called me, I explained nicely that their techs should try harder as this issue is a big no-no for HP being in such a competitive arena. HP needs to listen and follow up! And it's up to us to continue bothering them so they finally get it right! Please, everyone who sees this...DO IT NOW...Let them know that "I am mad as hell and I can't take it anymore", (quote from the movie "Network" 1976). 🙂

Hey everyone.

Well for my laptop model and Sytem Settings I can say that the 8-24-2012 driver fixes it for me.

I dont know if it has do with my WIdnows Audio Settings or maybe the other equalisers and DJ software i have installed on my Pavilion dv6-7009tx. But it does fix it, as i read on this thread somewhere in this ridiculous amount of pages, the engineers explained that its an algorithm in the Beats Audio software that tries to override one of the Windows volume control settings.

I must be lucky my Audio is set up in a particular way for my DJing, because the sound fluctuation isnt there anymore for me. I use the Razer Electra Headphones on this laptop, on MAX Volume most the time as i need to here certain frequencies and synths for some bass drops. And i can assure you the volume fluctuation is gone.

As Spyrok stated i think that http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/execteam/email/ceo/index.html

is the best way to go about this problem, if everyone here takes 5min to fill that out they'll notice they have to change something.

Hope this clears any confusion. Sorry to hear that the fix doesnt work on some of your models or maybe because of your Windows Audio settings. If you want i can try send you a list of my settings to see if it can hep you.

The 57966 beta driver I'm using also occasionally causes the audio to cut out entirely on my computer, forcing me to restart it.  Why can't we use a generic Intel driver for this?

Is this crap fixed yet? I was so excited to get beats audio, but now I'm just enraged by it every time I listen to Pandora.

I can't even watch a movie without volume going up and down - when I have my friend over to watch something, they start laughing at my computer every time swings start.. embarassing

Just got called by my case manager and been told to reinstall my operating system. HP doesn' give two cents about this problem.

For the 3270nr there is an audio driver, dated in October, for Win8...  maybe give it a try in Win7?

HP Recommended
Yeah worth a shot. Its for win7 and 8. I have it install led but not time to test.

The Windows 8 Driver with the Octobter Date, will install the 8/24 aka the current version available for the Windows 7 drivers so there will be no change.
