hmm for me it seems to be working (just the driver update) I have restarted my laptop several times today

What do u meam by it seems to be working?  How did you do the driver update? using the HP site or  through the driver settings?

Valyo_zs - It sounds like you are using the Komplete Audio 6 as your external sound card thus bypassing the internal sound card and drivers. I have the Traktor Control S4 and it sounds crystal clear when I do my mixing but I will hear the volume fluctuation when I casually listen to music or watch a movie thru the built-in headphone jack on the laptop while having the Beats Audio and the IDT drivers enabled. I am convinced it is the IDT drivers.

Hello!

We all have the same problem. I tried to uninstall/reinstall sound driver IDT but without any change. This Laptop is 1 week old and I already had to fix Graphic driver and touchpad driver. I am really upset. I have been chatting with an specialist and the answer is:

"We have come through this type of issues, and HP is working on this issue and about to release a patch on the driver that will resolve the problem. Well our developer team are working on it and we expect that they will release the patch file as soon as possible.

.. this issue is happening with the beats audio driver and software".

For sb works to reinstall previous driver with recovery manager, for sb uncheck eq adjustments in enhancement tab of the speakers. Unfortunatelly for me none of these were successful.

HP please resolve this, it´s not a single computer issue!!!

I just got a new pavilion dv6 and noticed the problem right away. I have uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled new ones, nothing has worked. It is very frustrating. I bought this hoping to use it for entertainment purposes. Now I find my 4year old dell has better audio quality. I hope HP figures this out fast

Hey thanks for voicing your concern! Many of us that have noticed the issue have opened a chat session or email to report the issue to HP in the hopes of giving more attention to the issue and speeding the process up of releasing a new audio driver.  So please open up a support ticket with HP as soon as possible!

Thanks!

I just got a HP Pavilion dv6-7000 Quad-core, and I noticed this issue from day one. I'm still patiently waiting for a driver update. :robotfrustrated:

You all are much more patient than I.  I gave up on HP and, while the sound from my Vaio isn't outstanding, I'm happy with my decision to move on to a competitor.  I appreciate that my machine JUST WORKS as it should.

Waiting for HP to fix this problem is really contributing to the problem.  I'm hanging around here waiting to see when they'll drop an update to fix this problem for y'all, but judging by the snail's pace they're moving at currently - I wouldn't be too optomistic.

We probably won't see an update until Windohs 8 is finally released. :TongueOut: I have a dv4t-5100 that is doing the same and my G60 which is 3 years 7 months old played music better than this thing. I see them as another Toshiba who says they are going to release a update soon and miss it by a couple of miles. Welp, I won't be holding my breath for an update anytime soon and if it does come out sooner than later that will be a miracle.

May have found a possible workaround and/or fix for this problem.

Right click the volume icon in your taskbar and select "Playback devices"

Then double click "Speakers and Headphones" (see photo below)

Then click the "Enhancements" tab and check the box for "Loudness Equalization"  (see photo below)

Then select "Settings..." and change the Release Time to "Long"  (see photo below)

Then select the "Tone Controls" and set the Bass to 1  (see photo below)

I also have a customized Beats equalizer so I don't know if this will work for everyone.  The quality of the music gets a little decreased when turning on Loudness Equalization but it's better than hearing the volume on the song go up and down every two seconds.  Let me know if this works for anyone.  Here is a picture of my Beats audio settings.

Most of us dont have an enhancement tab. Thats a big part of the issue
