What's Toast application?

Good evening.

I have a Notebook HP Pavillon dv6 series. Today I noticed that an application named Toast appears for few seconds on Task Manager every time that i switch the WI-FI button.

The related process is hpCaslNotification.

I'd like to know what this object is and if is this normal on this notebook. I found it pretty suspicious despite my antivirus software didn't detect nothing because I've never noticed it before.

Hi,

Do you have a product called Roxio in your machine ? It is a multimedia suite and Toast is a component of it, it is a burning program and it's ok to leave it there.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply.

No, I have none of Roxio products on my PC. It's a case of homonymy I suppose.

As, i wrote before, it's related with hpCaslNotification.exe process.

What's Toast application?

Hi,

It's an HP program/tool, some antivirus program may treat it as a real "toaster" and may remove it but it's safe.

You can find more info from the following link:

Hi customsignart. Grave danger seems a bit extreme. If you are concerned about Malware, you can try several free options. It sounds like you might have been a victim of internet panic advertising. The file that crashed might have been HpqToaster.exe which is a known HP file.

If you are going to do a free scan, trust Microsoft's first:

HpqToaster Module: (for reference)
