Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

The original Win10 version that comes preinstalled on HP PCs is an OEM version -- and OEM licensing agreements with Microsoft prevent that being made available for download by HP.

Since your PC came with Win10, you can use the following link to order HP Recovery Media for it:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07143

Once you have that, you boot from it and do a factory reset.  That will restore the PC to its original condition.

Good Luck

This laptop came with Win 8 but there was a promotion for a free upgrade to Win 10.  My Recovery dvd only restores to 8.  How to I get it to 10.

Once your PC is activated using Win10, MS has a record of that, and if you reinstall Win10 again on that same PC, MS will automatically reactivate it.

So, to put Win10 on it, use another PC and this link to create Win10 installation media:  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

Then, boot your PC from it and install Win10.

Good Luck
