You have got to be kidding me!!!

Are you installing W7 32 or 64 bit?

I will zip up and attach the applicable files and it is easier to install on W7.

I will give you the steps once you let me know...

The USB-FDD is there, tried with XP32, Win732, both are looking for the drivers, but asking for another...

It's very annoying.

The problem seems not to be the Intel-IaStor/AHCI i guess.

It's ridiculous that M$ has no baseline-tool to support the customer, i try to search a tool to get a list of the known and unknown hardware in the system.

It should be possible to give informations like "unknown hardware, ID xxxx, blabla...." to help experienced users.

I'll try to fetch this informations out of the installed linux and hope to find something usefull.

Another thought i have - is my 703EA really a 703EA or is there something beeing "customized" in past?

I can't believe this!

Try the 4 port controller...

Your PC has the Mobile Intel Series 5 chipset according to the specs, so the only 3 possible AHCI choices are...

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B29&CC_0106.DeviceDesc    = "Intel(R) 5 Series 4 Port SATA AHCI Controller"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B2F&CC_0106.DeviceDesc    = "Intel(R) 5 Series 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B22&CC_0106.DeviceDesc    = "Intel(R) 5 Series/3400 Series SATA AHCI Controller"

And the last one is for desktop PC's.

I'll try the windows-parts next days, actually i tried another way- linux + VM, seems to work fine for now, but i have to check the com1 functionality these days.

Linux finds a Intel 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset 4-port.

Ok, then try the "Intel(R) 5 Series 4 Port SATA AHCI Controller" when you get a chance.

Hi,

just a short update...

At the moment i've to use the HP for working and have not the time to test it a lot.

I found the way Linux Host - VM Windows guest as good condition to work with.

But i will have a new SSD drive later and then make some tests again.
