Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my HP Pavilion g series.  I have noticed that whenever I plugged in the the charger, the wifi connection drops out in a couple of minutes.  I have to unplug the charger and restart the laptop again to be connected to the internet.

I think that it is related to power management issues, but don't know hoe to solve them.  Can anyone one here help me please?

Waititng for a reply.  Thanks

Hello Prav_Raghoo,

I see that you are having problems with the WiFi connection on your HP computer. I would like to help with this issue but I need some information.

Can you provide the full model and product number of the computer? Here is a link that shows how to find that information.

How long have you been having the issue? Have you made any recent changes to the computer?

Go to power options and reset the power plans.
Reinstall Driver and diagnose it.

This should fix it.

I have gone through these steps:

1. Unistalled drivers

2. Downloaded the drivers and re-installed it again.

3. Changed power plan - Power Options->Balanced ->Change power plan -> Change advanced power setting -> Wireless Adapter Setting -> Power Saving Mode -> and selected On Battery: Max. Performance; Plugged in: Maximum Performance

Ultimately, from then on all worked correctedly until...

today, I was faced will more or less the same problem.  I again, reinstalled drivers but the wifi drops (light turns white to orange) again even though the driver was correctedly installed.  I diagnosed the problem and it says : "The default gateway was not available".  Could you please tell me how  do I resolve gateway issues?

Specification of my laptop:

HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC

Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit)

Wifi Adapter: Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g/n

Please help me.  Thanks

Hey Prav_Raghoo,

I'm sorry you're running into this wireless issue. There was another user who had the same Ralink RT5390 who used the below driver version and it resolved this issue.

Ralink driver version 5.0.23.0    Download and install this version under the Windows 7 column. Restart if the computer prompts you to and let me know the results when you get a chance.
