So i upgraded to windows 8 last year, it was fast but then day by day, it became slow. This laptop has a 2gb ram and a 64-bit processor, Intel atom N450. Since windows 8 was slow, i dedcided to install windows 7. So after i installed, all the drivers were working fine EXCEPT FOR MY WIFI CONNECTION. After more than a week of struggle, i tried updating my drivers and doing a lot of things. But my wifi it says 'No connections available'. Only ethernet works.Even i installed the latest updates in Windows update. Right now i have the latest Broadcom 802.11b/g network driver. Version 5.100.xxxx. I even tried uninstalling the driver from the device manager but even then i CAN'T search for wifi networks, infact it dosen't show any wifi networks.

@jass007 ,
Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums. One question when you did your install of Windows 7, while installing your drivers did you start with the Chipset Driver first.
The reason for this it is much like a traffic cop for all the other drivers on the system. I have seen this cause conflict with common devices and even to the point where they will not even show up in device manager.
If you can make sure you back up any data.
Once this is done go to your systems support page and download all the software and drivers and save them to a USB stick.

Once that is done boot into Windows Safe Mode.
Entering Safe Mode (Windows 7)
Once you are in safe mode you will want to remove all your drivers. You may have to uninstall one at a time and restart between uninstalls. Remember to boot into Safe Mode each time.
When all the drivers have been removed. Boot back into windows normally. Here you will have to install your drivers one at a time. Remember to start with the Chipset Driver first.
Please let me know how this goes for you.
Thak you again for posting and have a great day.

Is it fine if i uinstall the wifi driver in safe mode and then install the chipset driver and proceed as before?
Or should i format and install windows 7 again and start the driver installation with the chipset?
Because I don't have much time to uninstall the all the drivers and reinstall it again.

Hi thank you for posting back. What you want to do is remove all drivers. This may take a little time because after each uninstall you will have to reboot back into safe mode.
You will want to do it this way because you want to start the driver installation from scratch with the Chipset Driver in the lead.
If you don't you will end up with the same issue.
Let me know how it goes.
Have a great day.

Thanks for giving me an idea on what to do. I didn't do the actual steps you told me to do, but similar. I did go to safe mode, and just uninstalled the drivers and reboot back normally. I think the main problem was the wifi was switched off since i didn't install the HP Quick Launch Buttons. But anyways, you solution will workout, but the thing is that i did it in a faster way. Thanks for your help.
