Hi,

(my questions may look unprofessional, that's because i'm a noob)

I just want to know if there's anyone with the same situation as I am. I couldn't go through all the posts and messages.
I have a HP Pavlion dv-6190us with switchable graphics ( Intel HD 3000 and AMD Radeon 6770M ). I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro recently. Everything is fine, but like many of you, I can't see the SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS OPTION anymore.

Games like Left 4 dead 2, Counter strike : GO, work just fine without any lags. So, i think those games are using the AMD graphic card ( or is it Intel HD ). But Intel graphic card cannot handle those games right ??  And a few games like Mafia 2 and GTA 4 ( which worked very well in Windows 7 ) are running like sh** now. I'm assuming they are using the Intel graphics card. Am i wrong here ? When I had windows 7, i never had to switch the graphic cards manually. They would switch depending on the application or game.

So, I went to the AMD website and installed the latest Catalyst manager 12.11 Beta Driver. No problems installing it. But nothing has changed I guess, except i have this new catalyst center now. Does that Catalyst manager do anything ? Is it related to switchable graphics at all ? HP has no windows 8 drivers 'yet' for my laptop. I hope they release it soon. Do you think those HP drivers ( if they release it at all ) give me the option to manually change it ?

Also, a few people said we should never install drivers from AMD, but only from HP. Is that true ? Because I installed AMD drivers first. Am in trouble ? 🙂

thanks for reading this long long message. too many questions too, sorry !

thanks in advance 🙂

I have a DV7-6143cl with intel 3000 and Amd 6770m. I used Hp SP58788 drivers posted on this site and they work perfectly. Originaly I posted an issue with some metro apps not opening but later I found out it was an intel management driver that caused some of my metro apps to crash. Switchable graphics work as they should and battery life is also back to what it was with Win7. Before graphics driver battery life was more than half.

@gkart  HP SP58788 drivers should work for you as we have the same model video cards.

How can I reenable DSE, I don't need it anymore and don't want to have that test watermark.

You have to use cmd.exe or powershell with admin rights:

bcdedit -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF

Then reboot.

You must be talking about leshcat's drivers.

In his latest versions you get a tool that enables you to remove the watermark

I haven't used it yet to be honest, but will do soon as I'm downloading his latest driver sets.
