Windows 8 drivers for HP notebooks with switchable graphics.

Hi,

yesterday I tried to lookup drivers thourgh the search as you suggested. Tried some of them but I wasn't successful in getting things working. Ati card is still recognized as some HD 74xx series. Intel card is working. ATI driver failed to install becuse it doesn't recognize that HD 6470M driver is needed, if I select "Custom" during installation, it shows only 3 things that I have already mentioned: ati app sdk, cim and intel media components.

Can you point me more specific to some of the newer releases that you were talking about?

Trust me if I had a link I would have posted it long ago

anyways, you are left with one option, speak with an HP employee. and ask for the latest driver for your cards, the one released in december, a week ago.

Contact HP direct, via e-mail or chat ( if your pc is still under warranty ).

try this one....i have Radeon 6470M...this one worked for me.....just refresh your windows 8 and install this one....

Yes, the driver is set, the point in the menu appears, but Radeon - Intel doesn't switch...

Hi.
I have a notebook Pavilion dv6-6b59el with the latest bios, I downloaded sp59850 driver for the graphics card but when I try to install it,  the HD 6490M graphics card is not detected and are only installed ATI SDK app, cim and Intel Media components.

I tried to install it with the bios option "fixed" and "dynamic" without any positive result.
What can I do? Should I try to reinstall Windows 8 or to refresh the installation or are there other drivers I can use?

Try driver that was posted 2 posts above - sp58660 . That one worked for me.

I just tried ... Unfortunately it does not work: same result as the previous driver.
