Hey everyone. Been stressing about this for a while now. Got a HP Envy 14t-1100. Harddrive crashed and decided to get a win8 disc with a new ssd. Only thing thats not working is the switchable graphics. Its the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series. Installed so many things now with no fix. Can anyone walk me through this? Is this fixable? Laptop gets so hot now and its lame-o.

Hello wishyoudefeat3,
Your system is not working correctly after you upgraded to windows 8.
Here is a link that will let you check compatibility. You'll need your product number.
You can find this information by holding down the FN key and pressing the ESC key.
You can also try to update the drivers from HP.com.
Here is a link to the drivers. You’ll need to run them in compatibility mode.
Here is a link that will walk you through the steps to use compatibility mode.
Let me know how everything goes.
Have a good day

Hi guys,
Newbie here and didn't notice this thread earlier x.x
Anyway, can someone determine which driver is right for me? I have a Pavilion dv6-3240ca. I've seen multiple posts to leshcatlabs.net but I quite honestly have no clue which one I need to download.
I upgraded to Windows 8 and I got a driver working for a while, but recently updated it (bad idea) and the fps is really poor when playing video games or even watching videos.
Apparently, I should have a "roll-back" option enabled to go back to the previous driver but the button isn't "on?" (not sure how to say it...it's just a disabled button.)
EDIT: I knew I missed something - graphics are AMD Radeon HD 6300M Series and ATI Radeon HD 4200 Series
