Because the original poster had his issue solved?  This thread turned into a mass of different models having issues, but it started as one.

Smirks, right, "anticipated" is the key word. Since looking on the driver/sofrtware download page for my dv7t-6c00 (7690m xt) there is still no W8 driver posted, and W8 is now out.

On that point, I have something else I'm wondering, as I now have my Install Disk burned from the download of W8 and were looking at each other wondering what to do next lol.

I'm wondering if anybody with one of these HP laptops that come with 4 partitions have done a duel boot thing. And if so which partition did you remove to allow for a new partition to be made. The D drive recovery, or the HP-Tools E drive. And did it have any adverse effect.

I ask because I'd rather keep my W7 as it is and useable when needed for  certain hardware not compatable driver wise with 8, but also have 8 to get used to and hope for hardware drivers.

So I hold on to my W8 install CD, and keep wondering. I got it mainly because I couldn't pass up $14.99 for a New Pro OS that is expected to go to 200 after feb.

It's not just OUT
check out the HP main page, you'll see they are advertising their new laptops with windows 8 installed !!!!!! :Surprise:

and yet they don't have any drivers published :indifferent:

YUP, and I bet you won't find any with this half baked 7690m XT gpu and Intel apu either.

Hell homes you would have thought that with the trail time of W8 pre release's not to mention that the major manufactures receive them early from MS , that ALL these items aren't fully suppported now as of Oct 26th.

btw: nice font and coloring lol

I've a feeling that the 7690m xt drivers will be uploaded next week. I don't think the website people work on the weekend.

That said HOODY, I think I can get the 7690m drivers working for you. Let me know if interested. Stay on Windows 7 too.
