@Adrynalyne
Yeah sure, why not.
So you think they are posting "new" drivers for this card for W7?
Cause I seen some for 8 on that notebook review site for this 7690m xt, but not on the HP w8 driver page for it.
And like I said I wana keep my 7 and install 8 on new partition, but need some advice on which of these damned other partitions to remove, as you can only have 4 on a disk, and with the 4 already on here I can't repartition the C.
Maybe another option is to just find another drive and pull this one to keep as is, I dono, right now I am cutting a new partition on my Vista desktop, gona see if I can install 8 on it and try it there for the hell of it.

OK on w7 find this registry key for me:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0001
Then look for FeatureTestControl under it. Post the value it has.

SOLVED! - RADEON HD MOBILITY 6370/4200
How to:
When Windows 8 starts, it will start onlythe the onboard card (4200). On Device Manager you will find the offboard card with an exclamation point. Do the following to solve this issue.
1 - Download this, but DO NOT install it yet. http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/catalystlegacywin8.aspx
2 - Go to Windows Update and download and install the 6370 driver. In the middle of the installation you are going to get a BSOD. This happens because of a conflict with the onboard card. But the driver is going to be installed on the system, that's why this step is necessary.
3 - After the BSOD, your PC is going to reboot. You will notice after when it boots that the screen is with a low resolution. That's beacuse the two cards are disabled. Go to Device Manager - Display Adapters - right click on the 6300M card and Update Driver Software. The driver is going to be installed in a few seconds. But still, it is not going to work.
4 - Install the file you downloaded before. That's Catalyst 12.6 Windows 8 Legacy for the 4200 card. After installing it you will notice the resolution of the screen is back to normal and that the 6370 video card is already functioning.
When you plug the HDMI cable you might have to scale the screen size on Catalyst. HDMI audio is going to be working too.
That's it. You're good to go.

I have an HP Pavilion m7-1015dx. Upgraded to the new win8 video driver and now when I play some of the HP and Wildtangent games The display driver quits or stops working and throws me out of the game. Did not do this with the old driver. I am using win 7 Professional.
Any help would be appreciated. Possibly going back to the original driver. If I knew how.
Thanks
Bob L
