Windows 8 drivers for HP notebooks with switchable graphics.

Well here is yet another link to yet another driver that is supposed to "work" with these cards, it was posted on another Windows 8 blog.

But the link only shows it being for 2 cards, however I just had 2 others use it and they said it works for them with one of the cards listed on the list here. I'm wondering if it would work with the 7690m xt is all, I can't try it cause i still use W7 and am on dialup, but someone with high speed could get it snd try it, esp someone with a 7690m xt. Someone even said it might work on W7, but I'm not sure about that.

My Question is where is the support for us AMD users 

I've got a Dv6-6040ca with an AMD onboard to go with the 6600/6700M ATI card and I'm sitting here trying to rig a computer not much more then a year old together just so I can run the lates OS.

Wellll YET "another" HP driver that is supposed to work for the 7690m xt/Intel 3000

Anybody with W8 and this POS setup can try it and let us know how it goes.

installed win 8 64bit driver for amd radeon 6470 from HP website.......but still after installation there is yellow exclamation with amd radeon 7400M series under display adapter.....and there is also no cataylst control center on right click.....

was helping me to finally install the correct drivers for my AMD HD 6770M and Intel HD3000 graphics card as well as the CCC.

I now can use Switchable Graphics with my Windows 8 Pro 64Bit, same as under Windows 7.

above link was meant for amd radeon 6470 and 7450M.....i have amd radeon 6470 graphic card but this driver isn't working for me at all....how did you managed to get it work?????

Hello,

I uninstalled all exisiting driver until in Device Manager it was showing for both Graphic Cards VGA only. After a clean Reboot I used the mentioned Driver Package to do a clean install.

I hope this helps at least it did it for me and Win 8 is working like a charm.

After two weeks of misery fighting this issue and getting nowhere HP have finally come up trumps by releasing a win 8 64-bit  AMD driver for my ProBook 4530s (HD6490M) 

And you know what ... it works perfectly !
