I installed windows 10 pro on my HP 550 laptop. I then tried to update it online. It then said "error in installing the update" use 0x8024402f to trouble shoot.
when i switch on the laptop it displays this message "1720 SMART Hard drive detects imminent failure (failing attr. 05)"

Hi,
It seems your hard drive is failing and might need to be replaced soon. Try seein with program like crystaldiskinfo the health of the drive:
http://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html
You can also try hdtune to see health:
http://www.hdtune.com/download.html
I would start backing up any important data you have on drive in case it fails totally.
Hope it helps,
David
