@adsadsads01
Which CQ45 do you have? Press the FN + ESC keys to view your product number. Also let me know which brand of wireless card you have so I can get you a link to the latest wireless driver.
1. Click the Start button
2. Type 'device'
3. Click Device Manager
4. Expand Network Adapters
5. Look for the line that says 'wireless'/'WiFi'/'802.11'. There should also be a manufacturer's name there like Atheros, Ralink, Intel, Broadcom and a model number right after that. Let me know what the manufacturer's name and the model number are.
I'll keep an eye out for your reply 🙂

@adsadsads01 Thanks for that information! Here is a link to the latest Ralink driver version 5.0.25.0. After the installation, restart if you are prompted to.

@Yuga Thanks for the information! I understand you tried to reinstall the driver. Did you click the Uninstall button on Device Manager > Network Adapters > Broadcom Properties > Driver tab and then restart the computer?
What version is listed on the Driver tab of Broadcom Properties? If it is less than version 5.100.82.82, download and install it from here
Broadcom Wireless Driver version 5.100.82.82
Also, your BIOS is pretty outdated. Here is the latest version
During the BIOS installation your computer will restart on its own. Allow it to restart and get back to the Desktop. Let me know the results when you get a chance!

I have the same problem
Product Name : HP ENVY dv6 Notebook PC
Product Number : D2Y62EA#UUZ
Serial Number :[Personal Information Removed]
BIOS : F.22 - 11/02/2012
Network : Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter
Driver version: 5.0.25.0
driver date: 12/04/2013
F12 stays orange - when pressing f12 the flight mode is toggled between on and off. However, the wireless is not activated. I've tried most of the suggestions in this thread without success.
Is the wireless adapter simply broken ???

@Yuga Of course! You'll need an Ethernet cable.
1. Plug in the Ethernet cable directly from your computer to your router in one of the ports labeled 1-4.
2. Give your computer a moment to connect to the network.
3. Click here to download Broadcom Wireless Driver version 5.100.82.82.
4. Restart if you are prompted to after the installation.
5. Click here to download BIOS version F.66. Your computer will restart on its own during the installation. Allow it to restart and get back to the desktop screen.
6. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your computer and test the wireless functionality and the wireless button.
Let me know the results when you get a chance 🙂
