My wife and I each have new ZBook 17s that work fine on our wireless network. How do I force them to use our wired network via CAT5 cable connection? There is a button that turns off the wireless, but that doesn't seem to do anything except turn the wireless off.

I tried it again, and this time it worked. I suspect the CAT5 cable I first tried it with was defective. I downloaded a big file over the network twice, once using Wireless and once using the wired network. It reported an average of 2MB/second using wireless, and 16-17MB/s using the wired network. This is what I expected, but it didn't work when first tried.
The HP Connection Manager came up when the network connection was established, then it went away. How do I get to the HP Connection Manager on my own?
Thanks for getting me to look at this again, now to see if the other ZBook also works on the wired network...

Hi,
Yes, that's the button (the second one from right). It turns the wireless off, you can turn it on any time. The following image shows my current setup: my machine is connected to both wired and wireless:
We normally setup this way because we can pick our machines up then go to a meeting room and won't loose connection. We can simply turn the wireless off using the switch if we wish.
Regards.
