Hello, I have a, HP G62, and I have a problem with my screen. I had done an update of my bios, from version F.08A to F.48. Once that I had done it, when it restarted my screed was not working. I started to look on internet on my phone reasons and I found many reasons for a screen to done't work, so I choose a few things: I replaced the screen with a new one and nothing. Searching more on net, I saw how to check if my motherboard is broke, so I put a flashlight on my screen and I could see that was working, I connected the laptop to a monitor and is working, just that my backlight from screen is not working. Also I replaced the cable from screen. When I checked on device manager is showing me that Intel turbo Boost Tehnology Driver is not working. Then I installed an older version of bios, F.35, than in bios everything was ok, just the screen still not working. I also instaled the old verion of bios F.08A, and still the same screen without backlight.

Please I need help as I really need the laptop.

   Thank you!

I grasp that after updating your bios your screen did not work.  If you connect an external monito,r it works.

You tried reinstalling different bioses and have finally reverted back to the original.

Hello Sparkles1,

Thank you for your replay. I had tried to do all the tests from that link with the memory and memory slots, both memories are working and also the memories slots too. But still the backlight not working only on external monitor.

Also my HP G62 model number is XC209EA#B1T and my opertating system is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Service Pack 1.

And I just checked again and Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology Driver is still nnot working. I reistalled the driver from HP site but still not working. This is happening just with last version of Bios.

Thank you, and I hope we can resolve this problem!

Hi drGabriel,

Thank you for your reply.

I suggest you go into the bios setup and restore the defaults.  F9 key (once you have entered the bios).  If you still do not have a backlight on the display, you have proven it is the display backlight that is not working.

Here is a link to the HP G62 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide.  Please note page 18 item 1 for a list of part numbers to replace the display, if you choose to replace it.

Hello,

As I aiready said in my first message, I had replaced the screen already, and also the cable from screen and webcam. With both screens is the same.

Also I had restored the defaults in Bios, and nothing.

Hi drGarbriel,

Thank you for your reply.

I suggest you do a recovery back to factory.   Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7).

You will receive an option to backup your personal files to prevent data loss.  If you have not done one recently, I suggest you do one now.
