It is actually DDR3-1600 memory and the actual clock speed is half that or 800 mhz. It is double data rate (DDR) so it "fetches" data twice on each cycle so the convention is that the speed is listed as twice what it really is. So 800 mhz x 2 is 1600.
So you are actually running faster than you thought and all is just fine with your memory. If there are any other questions please post back.

From the service manual:
Memory module (PC3L, 12800, 1600-MHz): 8-GB 693374-001
4 GB 691740-001
The laptop contains a DDR3-1600 memory module.
So by what diagnostic tool are you seeing that your memory is running at 800 mhz? The question here is not so much whether I have a solution as it is whether you actually have a problem.

Why won't you tell us why you think whatever memory you have is running at 800 mhz? Forgive my skepticism but we get people here all the time who do not fully understand what they are looking at and jump to all kinds of dire conclusions that are just not justified by the facts. So if you want help lay your cards on the table.

Why don't you wait until you have some more time to focus on what you are doing? cpu-z will report 1600 mhz memory at 800 or 1333 at 667. My desktop I am doing this on is DDR3-1333 and here is my cpu-z:
So if that is what you are going on it will register at half the advertised speed for the reasons I stated.
