@LiliMadrigal

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

This seems like the webcam driver is missing after a recent update. Even an antivirus program might be blocking the camera, privacy settings don't allow camera access for some apps, or there's a problem with the app you want to use.

If the error continues, perform a power reset (or hard reset) to clear information from the computer's memory without erasing personal data.

The HP solutions are not suitable for my laptop, hence I still cannot use the camera.

The last thing I can suggest try and restore the OS back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.  The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

I took the laptop to a technician and after several movements, I was told that the camera activation definitely an issue between Windows 11 and the laptop (HP). Now I have to pay for an extra solution for that may o may not work... And I bought the laptop only has year and a half.

I have searched and searched to find out why my camera wasn't working anymore.....It is now fixed!! 🙂  I never knew that itty bitty button on the side existed until today, so I feel very dumb, but also very grateful that my issue is fixed.  Thank you!
