dv1000 bios upgrade

Pavillion dv1000 with 512M memory  and currently installed BIOS F.21

I want to update the BIOS, but after following all the steps "System Health Scan" etc and finding the suggested release, F.23A, dated 3/31/06 when I reach the last step and tell it to install,  I get the message, "Not for this PC".

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I see that you are having a problem updating your BIOS.

Please post your product and model number.

You can find this information by holding the FN key and pressing the ESC key.

HP Pavillion dv1000 with 512M memory  with XP and currently installed BIOS F.21.

The laptop case and System info say its a dv1000. When I run "System health scan" from HP it says its a dv1624.  Is it safe to update the BIOS for the dv1624??

The update is for the DV1000 series.

Your DV1624 is just your exact model of the series.
